Description:
Client – Sri Debasish Chakraborty & Smt. Pampa Chakraborty
The client envisions a residence inspired by the charming, sloped-roof homes commonly found in mountainous regions. This design approach not only captures the cozy, rustic essence of mountain homes but also incorporates modern elements that make it functional and visually appealing in various environments.
The building’s facade features a prominent, steeply sloped A-frame roof, characteristic of mountain architecture, which provides both aesthetic appeal and practical benefits, like efficient rainwater runoff. The roof is covered with dark shingles, contrasting beautifully with the lighter, earthy tones of the facade, enhancing the home’s natural appeal.
Wood panelling on the upper portion of the facade brings warmth and texture, adding to the rustic feel, while the lower portion uses a clean, light-coloured finish, creating a balanced and inviting look. Large, vertical windows on the upper floor flood the interiors with natural light, framing scenic views and connecting the residents to the surrounding environment. A balcony with decorative railings wraps around the upper floor, offering an outdoor retreat.
