Description:
Client – Sri Debasish Chakraborty & Smt. Pampa Chakraborty
A second variant of the charming, sloped-roof homes commonly found in mountainous regions that meets the client’s practical needs. The design emphasizes both functionality and comfort, adapting mountain-inspired aesthetics to suit modern living requirements. This slope also provides extra attic space, creating room for additional living areas without expanding the building's footprint.
The building’s facade features a gentle sloped A-frame roof along the X axis and a steep sloped roof along the Y axis increasing the dynamics of the building regarding differentiation of spaces and how they are to be used. The roof is covered with dark shingles, contrasting beautifully with the lighter, earthy tones of the facade, enhancing the home’s natural appeal.
The exterior features durable, weather-resistant materials like treated wood cladding ensuring longevity while maintaining the natural, rustic charm of traditional mountain homes. Generous eaves provide additional shade and protect the walls and windows from rain, reducing wear and enhancing energy efficiency by keeping interiors cooler. A balcony under the roof’s extended slope allows the client to enjoy fresh air regardless of weather conditions. Inside, an open floor plan with high ceilings provides a spacious feel and supports natural ventilation, creating a comfortable environment year-round.
